The critical care fellowship is not a pathway towards certification and licensure as a Canadian physician.

Our program does provide assistance regarding application for a work permit linked to the fellowship position but it does not provide guidance around application for permanent residency or citizenship. Please visit or contact Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) directly for information regarding the immigration process: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html

Please note that Subspecialist Examination Affiliate Program (SEAP) is not currently available for Critical Care Medicine Fellows enrolled at the University of Toronto

1. Check your eligibility: Make sure you meet the eligibility requirements to immigrate to Canada, whether through a skilled worker program, family sponsorship, or as a refugee.

2. Choose the right immigration program: Determine which immigration program is best suited to your situation and research the requirements and application process.

3. Gather required documents: Collect all necessary documents, such as identification, proof of education and work experience, and any additional required documentation for your specific immigration program.

4. Apply for a visa or permit: Submit your application for a visa or permit through the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website or through a visa application center in your home country.

5. Prepare for your move: Once your application is approved, start making arrangements for your move to Toronto, including securing housing, finding employment, and familiarizing yourself with Canadian culture and customs.
